Concept Map - 3rd December

Today, as a class we were discussing what a concept map was and what needed to be included to complete it. We were informed that we had to think of different ideas for our thriller opening and write them down on the concept map. It is only ideas and it is all subect to change; there are different factors which may influence our final decision. Therefore, as a group, we were thinking of different ideas for our thriller opening scene individually. Our initial idea was a clown and we were all certain that it would be a great idea for our thriller opening because clowns are stereotypically scary and intimidating characters. We then discussed different settings such as an abandoned house, childrens party, adults party and we finally came up with a warren. Woodland areas are extremely creepy when it is dark because it is difficult to interpret what is surrounding you. Therefore, we thought that the warren would be a good idea and this idea was supported by our audience research because it was the second most popular answer. After deciding our setting and scary character, we then thought about the other characters; who would get killed? Who would see the clown? We then thought that there should be a group of girls in the warren, perhaps for a dare, and then one of the girls would see the clown and the other girls would not believe her. Therefore, we created our concept maps based around this idea and we commented on editing, characters, camerawork, mise en scene, sound and credits.
