Bruno Mars & Mark Ronson -

Uptown Funk

Katie, Milo and I all discussed a variety of different music videos to analyse and this included the consultation of Taylor Swift's Shake it off. However, we decided that this it too feminine and wouldn't appeal as much as Uptown Funk. Uptown Funk is really upbeat and a lot of fun which would make it easier to film. It's also not too complicated to lip synch which means that we should be able to get a large variety of different people to take part in our video.

Uptown Funk Lip-Synch Video

& Bloopers

Katie, Milo and myself spent the last two weeks of the Summer term filming our lip synch video and this took us a lot longer than we originally anticipated. We tried as best as we could to get different individuals to sing different lines of Uptown Funk but we gradually discovered that cutting the tiny clips would prove difficult and not everybody was willing to perform individually or even at all. Therefore we re-printed the script and planned different sections that we thought certain individuals could lip synch to and we then began our filming process. We decided to have Ross, Tom, Josh and Lewis be the four main characters of the first section of our music video to allow the audience to familiarise themselves with the characters and allow personal identity to be identified within groups of audiences. Once we had filmed the four boys, we went and asked different people around Sixth Form whether they'd be willing to perform in our Lip Sync video and luckily enough, the majority of those we asked were willing to take part. It wasn't plan sailing because most of those taking part needed to rehearse their lines and figure out what actions they would be doing in their clip. Therefore filming took us around an hour and a half each day for a week and we then finally got all the shots we required. After downloading the shots onto the chache drive, Katie, Milo and I had to diffrentiate the blooper clips with the offical lip sync video clips. This then allowed us to begin syncing the clips with the Uptown Funk soundtrack. Syncing the clips with the soundtrack at the accurate time was extremely difficult and took us quite a while to complete the editng task. However once we completed it we thought we had synced the clips as accurately as possible.
